Have you ever read a book that feels more like it's reading you, rather than you reading it? Well that's what it's like for me when I read the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. I know I'm a little late on reading it, it is a few years old, but well reading is not something that I do that often. Reading is not something that I particularly enjoy, so finding a book that I enjoy this much doesn't happen very often. When I read it, it's like the wordless thoughts and feelings that are floating around in my brain finally have words and order. It's almost creepy how similar the author and I think. I have yet to finish the book, but from the amount that I've read, I'm completely certain that it's a book I'm going to love for a long time.
This book has changed the way that I look at God and religion in a way that I didn't expect. It's pushed me more into the Bible and made me hungry for more of God. And this book isn't even one of those books that claims to do that. It's just a simple man telling his stories and how he's chosen to live his life and the mistakes he's made the thoughts that fly around in his head. So since I love this book so much, I've decided to share it with you. Leave a comment here with one random fact about yourself and your email address (if you don't want to leave your email address in a comment just send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org), and I will randomly choose one person to receive the book. The winner will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Oh and this book is being turned into a movie. Here's the trailer for the movie. It's different than the book, so you'll probably want to read the book before you see the movie and quite possibly A Million Miles in a Thousand Years which is the book written about the process of writing the movie (trust me it's a lot more interesting than I just made it sound). Check out the trailer.
