Liam- Lehigh Valley Bar Mitzvah

Back in November, I had the privilege of photographing Liam's family before his Bar Mitzvah. They were such a sweet, happy, and funny family to work with. And Liam is probably one of the most polite and personable 13 year old I have ever met. He was so excited for his big day, and so was his family. You could just see on their faces how proud they all were of him. We also got to take some photos in the temple before the ceremony. They are probably some of my favorite photos to date. Something about them just feels so beautiful and sacred.

my weekend in iphone photos

This weekend I decided that I wanted to focus on taking photos on my iphone. I feel like I haven't taken pictures in a while where I really just look at things, see their beauty, and then capture it. I always have my phone on me, but I don't think about taking photos nearly as much as I should. So I'm starting to take more pictures for myself just because I like it.

Friday:

I needed to get ouf of the house so Mom and I went to Petco to get a sweater for Ivy for our family photos (yep we're those people). Then we wandered around the store because we weren't ready to head home yet and we spent probably 15mins just watching the different fish in their tanks.

Then this little guy decided to pose for a photo.

Saturday:

Annie and I went downtown Easton to go to the Farmer's Market. It was Bacon Fest. We didn't eat any bacon though. I think I'm unAmerican because I honestly can't stand bacon. Instead we walked around, took pictures of the vegetables, looked at art, tried on vintage dresses, and got sushi. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

We went into the Crayola store and just had to take our picture in front of the wall of colors. And no, I'm not carrying a giant camera lens, it's my awesome new mug. :)

Haha, oh Annie. So excited about the wall of colors.

Sunday:

The weather was so gorgeous today! Like open the windows in November kind of gorgeous. Ivy goes crazy whenever she sees people outside and our neighbors were cutting down a tree. But for some reason, if I hold her to see out the window, and now apparently if she sits in the window, she's quite content and doesn't make a sound.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Kim | Catasaqua High School Class of 2013

Meet Kim. She's a smart, fun, and outgoing senior from Catasaqua High School. She loves reading and watching competition shows, like The Voice (that happens to be one of my new favorites as well). Kim loves the look of cities and classic outfits. I love her style and the ideas that she had for her session. We don't exactly live in an area that has nice cities, but surprisingly we were able to find just the right look in downtown Easton. She also wanted to bring her dog along for portraits. I just love how almost every girl I've been working with has been bringing her dog along. Dogs really are a girl's best friend. I love meeting girls who are just as in love with their dogs as I am with mine.

When we met, I asked Kim if there was a scene in a movie that really stuck out to her that she loved and fit her style. She described a scene from the movie "A Cinderella Story" with Hillary Duff, where Hillary is standing in a gazebo at night with strings of lights and candles all over. I knew exactly which scene she was describing and I just knew that I had to create a scene like this for Kim for her photos. So luckily I was able to use my friend Annie's backyard and I spent a whole afternoon wrapping lights all around a tree in her yard. I had no idea what was going to come of these shots, since I've never really shot anything like that before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I loved the challenge to create something so different from the average senior portraits.

Kim also brought along her family for a few shots as well. They were a very entertaining family.

Kourtney | Liberty High School Class of 2013

Kourtney is a beautiful and fun girl, and I was glad for the opportunity to photograph her. I'm convinced that all the girls I'm working with are lying when they say they've never done any kind of modeling before. And Kourtney was no exception. She enjoys nature and going on walks so we decided to spend the afternoon in Jacobsburg Park for her senior photos. Luckily, we were still able to capture some of the summery look that she loves so much, since it was the first week of September when we photographed her session. She's also a smart girl too. She loves reading, writing for the school newspaper, and she wants to study medicine.
